How to create Quicktimes from image sequences with FFMPEG

This is something I worked on while working at Arc9. I figured this all out in the early stages of my employment there. I learned that VFX Studios that primarily used Windows bought dedicated Mac Minis to just render out Quicktimes from image sequences. This really blew my mind and I somewhat understood why based on past experiences I had trying to create a Quicktime on Windows. The colors were just off and changing the gamma settings, a “solution” widely given on forums, didn’t help very much. So how do we create Quicktimes on Windows? We use FFMPEG!!

I’m linking to Rob Nederhorst’s blog article for more details because I did the R&D for him in trying to solve this problem.
